Why Parents Choose Republic of Drivers
What Your Teen Will Learn
Every certification program includes the full Government of New Brunswick approved curriculum — the same content used by all approved schools across the province.
💰 The Insurance Math (Often Pays Back the Course)
New Brunswick rewards teens who complete a GNB-approved driver education program with the First Chance Discount — 6 years of insurance experience credit instead of 3. Most NB insurers translate this into a meaningful first-year discount on a teen's policy (or your policy if they're added to it).
For many families, the first year of insurance savings alone pays back the entire program cost. Read our full breakdown →
Common Parent Questions
Will my teen be ready for the road test?
Our certification programs are designed exactly for that. Each program includes the full GNB-approved 25-hour theory portion (20h online + 5h in-class), structured in-car lessons, and our car for the road test itself. The 8-month accelerated path (with approved education vs. 12 months without) means your teen can be on the road sooner — but only when they're truly ready. Your instructor will tell you honestly if more practice hours are needed.
How do I monitor my teen's progress?
After every in-car lesson, the instructor logs digital notes about what was covered, skills demonstrated, and areas to keep working on. You and your teen can review these any time from the dashboard. No more guessing about what's happening during lessons.
What if they need extra hours beyond the package?
Add-on practice hours are available at $70/hr (1h), $215 (3h), or $445 (7h). Your instructor will let you know if extra hours would help — there's no pressure to upgrade unless your teen genuinely needs the extra time.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Afterpay splits the total into 4 interest-free biweekly payments ($35 setup fee). Card, Interac e-Transfer, and cash are all also accepted.
Do you do pickup from school?
Yes — free pickup and drop-off across Moncton, Dieppe, and Riverview, including from Moncton High, Harrison Trimble, BMHS, École L'Odyssée, École Mathieu-Martin, and Riverview High. No need to be the parent taxi service.
What about adverse weather and winter driving?
Our Premium Program includes specific adverse-weather training. For Basic and Plus students, weather skills are covered in the in-class theory session and as opportunities arise during regular lessons. Driving in NB winters matters — we make sure your teen can handle them.
What if my teen doesn't pass the road test?
We help them prep again. The instructor reviews exactly what went wrong on the test sheet, and you can add practice hours focused specifically on those areas. We'd rather your teen pass safely on the second try than barely scrape through on the first.
